May 22 Two-Bit Waltz

This dark, dysfunctional family comedy carries the dry wit and playful whimsy of a Wes Anderson film along with the brash authenticity and fresh perspective of its then-20 year old director, Clara Mamet. Featuring Academy Award nominee and Emmy winner, William H. Macy.

In the wonderfully dysfunctional tradition of The Royal Tenenbaums, teenage years are always messy… but for Maude, things couldn't seem more tragic. Within one week just prior to her 18th birthday, she is suspended from school, stranded by her best friend, dumped by the boy she "loves", and Granny just died leaving her an enormous amount of money under one condition: Maude must go to college which she does not want to do and her wildly eccentric family is no help at all.

"Clara Mamet isn't afraid to wear her influences -- Wes Anderson, Hal Ashby, her own father -- on her sleeve. But somehow the voice that emerges is her own, and it's fresh, witty, and winning. TWO-BIT WALTZ is not only remarkably assured filmmaking but even in places heart-warming.” - Michael Dunaway, Paste Magazine

June 19- Meet The Guilbys

Claire and Maurice have to take the whole family to Claire's father's funeral. This tightly knit family is not only composed of Claire's vegetarian son, Alex, who's secretly fond of Maurice's daughter, Lucie, the teenage rebel, but also Claire's brother, a poet living under his sister's roof; without forgetting young Prune, Claire and Maurice's daughter, who will develop a passion for the country's emblematic cows. They must all strive to get along during the road trip to Willouby.
