Visit each day for new videos!
Airdrie Public Library is doing the Summer Reading Club again this year online. The SRC will look different this year but will still make reading fun all summer long.
Spend 20 minutes a day reading and earn prizes along the way, keep track of your progress with a reading log. Over the summer if you read 15 hours you’ll be entered into a year end draw for special kits and a grand prize tablet!
This year we’ll be offering a video program every week day for you to do from the comfort of your home. We’ll have STEM programs where we do science experiments, Arts & Crafts where you can create something new, Outdoor activities that allow you to explore, LEGO challenges that will have you building, and Cooking where you’ll make delicious dishes. Each week will have a different theme based on genres of reading. Videos will start being aired on July 6.
We’ll also be posting special challenges and other activities to our website throughout the summer.
Looking for more? You can register for our virtual classrooms where you can share your work, comment on others, and ask questions. We’ll also post bonus challenges, related videos and articles to help you learn more, and host virtual meetings. You can sign up for as many as you’d like. Registration for these classrooms opens June 26 at 9:00am
To help with social distancing guidelines we encourage participants to collect their prizes all at once rather than as each benchmark is reached. Summer Reading Prizes can be collected in the library starting July 13.
(Please note, the virtual classrooms will be using Google Classrooms and a gmail account is needed to access the room.)
