One eRead Canada is a national bilingual (English and French) digital eBook club – with more than 600 libraries across Canada participating so readers and library users across the country can enjoy this bilingual reading experience.

The book is Kim Thúy’s celebrated novel, Vi about the lives and experiences of Vietnamese refugees in Canada.

APL library cardholders can download a copy of Vi, in eBook or eAudio format (in both French and English) with no waitlists or limits on number of copies borrowed. Check out OverDrive/Libby, Cloud Library, and Cantook Station anytime between Jan. 1- 31, 2021.

The book can be downloaded in English or French – people should check with their local library for options.

APL patrons can connect online to discuss the eBook in the One eRead Facebook Group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/587015915117183/). Every week, moderators will post a question discussing the themes, characters, and overall impressions of the eBook. There will also be two live streaming discussions on Facebook with the author, one in French and one in English, on Jan. 19&20.
