Airdrie Public Library, in partnership with North Rocky View Community Links, is proud to offer a selection of preschool literacy programs.

Registered Programs 

*All Registered Programs require a valid APL card. Register online.

Toddlertime: Mondays—9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Fridays- 9:30 and 10:30. In the Program Room. Designed for preschoolers aged 1 -3, who need to move and actively participate. This program focuses on simple action songs, finger plays, use of simple props, and short stories.

Babytime: Mondays—11:30 a.m. & Fridays—11:30 a.m. Songs, bounces, tickling rhymes, finger plays and stories for babies birth to 12 months and their caregivers.

Sensory Storytime: Mondays: 1:00-2:00 p.m. Designed for children aged 3-10 with Autism or other developmental differences. This program is an interactive experience featuring songs, rhymes, stories and sensory play opportunity for children and their caregivers.

Wiggle Wednesday: Second Wednesday of each month —9:15-10:15 a.m. In partnership with Ambition Performing Arts, and designed for children aged 2-5. This program combines storytime, movement, and dance. (January 9, February 13, March 13, April 10, May 8, June 12)

Spring Sessions:
April 19-June 8

Rhymes & Songs: Mondays- 9:45 and 11:00 a.m.; Tuesdays- 9:45 and 11:00 a.m.; Wednesday- 9:45 and 11:00 a.m.; Thursday- 9:45 and 11:00 a.m. in the Children’s Area. This fun-filled half hour of finger plays, rhymes, simple stories and songs is aimed at children from birth to 5 and their caregivers.

Sing, Read, Rhyme and Play: Tuesdays- 10:45-11:45 and Thursdays: 1:00-2:00. In the Program Room. This one hour program includes songs, rhymes, stories, and a wonderful opportunity for children to build social skills. Little ones will learn through play as they explore and enjoy our popular play carts. For children Birth-to age 5 and their caregivers. Space is limited: Please Pick up a ticket at the Information Desk.

Creative Hands and Minds: Tuesdays: 1:00-2:00 p.m. and Thursdays 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Program Room. Designed for children aged 3-5. This program features stories, songs, rhymes and a craft for children and their caregivers to share. Space is limited: Please Pick up a ticket at the Information Desk

Night Owls: Tuesdays—6:15-7:15 p.m. in the Program Room. Children ages 3+ are invited to get ready for bed with activities chosen specially for bedtime. Pillow, stuffed toys and jammies are welcome. We will dim the lights and cozy in for an hour of soothing rhymes and songs, finger plays stories and craft. Space is limited: Please Pick up a ticket at the Information Desk.

A League of Super Dads:  Saturdays, 10:15 a.m. in the Program Room.  Birth to 5.  Calling all Dads, Grandads, Uncles, and other male caregivers!  Have fun with the kids while exploring early literacy skills.

Family Storytime: Saturdays- 11:30 a.m. in the Children's Area.  This program is for children of all ages and their caregivers. Join us for fun stories and songs for the whole family!
