The Library facility closed on March 17, 2020, by order of the government of Alberta. Many library services, however, are available online. We hope you will take the opportunity to visit and explore Your Library Online.
Twenty-three APL staff are working hard behind-the-scenes to keep library service going. Our programming team is busy planning, and soon recording, programs that you will be able to view and participate in online. The public service team is answering patron queries that reach us by phone, through email, and via our online chat service. Orders for books and other library material is being placed by our collection development team.
As soon as we can, we will have our book handling crew back in the library sorting out the chaos created by a very busy last two open days. On Monday, March 16, we signed out over 5,000 items, the highest number ever on a single day. On the Tuesday before we closed, the average number of items signed out in each circulation transaction was 35.5. Some people need toilet paper. Our patrons need books.
