Library Volunteers

Current Volunteer Opportunities!

We strive to make volunteering with Airdrie Public Library a rewarding experience and it is through our volunteers that we are able to strengthen and enhance our services. 

Creative Hands and Minds
Designed for children aged 3-5. This program features stories, rhymes and a craft for children and their caregivers to share.
Session 1 (Drop-in)

Dates: 
Tuesdays, from September 12 to October 17 (6 sessions)

Time
: from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Duties
: Setup, assisting with craft, cleanup of craft

Positions available
: 1 (ages 16+)
 

Bedtime Storytime
It’s pajama time at the library! Children ages 4+ are welcome to drop-in for Bedtime Storytime with their favourite stuffy. Dress in your comfiest pajamas! 

Dates: 
Tuesdays, from September 12 to October 17th (6 sessions)

: from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm

Duties
: Setup, assisting with craft, cleanup of craft

Positions available
(ages 16+)
 
 

Davis Ball Hockey Tournament
Airdrie Dads will be hosting a hockey tournament to raise funds.

Location:
 Davis Chevrolet 149 East Lake Crescent NE, Airdrie - under the hail tents

Duties

  • Handing out APL materials (balloons, tattoos, brochures)
  • Helping out with kids various activities such as coloring pages, bouncy house and face painting assistance

Shifts

From 9:30 am to 1:00 pm
Positions available: 3
 
From 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm
Positions available: 2

 


How to apply:

  1. Fill out an application form  and bring it to the library or e-mail it to our Volunteer Coordinator Lucia Gomez.
  2. The Volunteer Coordinator will contact you within a month of receipt of application to set up an interview.
  3. Together you will complete a volunteer agreement and schedule.
