Current Volunteer Opportunities!

We strive to make volunteering with Airdrie Public Library a rewarding experience and it is through our volunteers that we are able to strengthen and enhance our services. 

Art Programs

**Teens 16+ & Adults Volunteers **

Airdrie Mayor’s Night of the Arts
Airdrie Public Library assists with this special night that recognizes local artists as well as art supporters.
Date: Saturday, January 27th
Location: Bert Church Live Theatre, 1010 East Lake Blvd. Airdrie, AB T4A 2A1
Timeline: Arrival: 5:45 to 6:00 pm
Positions and roles

  • Greeters (2) - responsible for welcoming patrons and directing them to wherever they may need to go. Shift: from 6:30 to 7:30 pm
  • Coat Check (3) - will be trained by a Bert Church Theatre staff member on the coat check system and will be responsible for accepting or retrieving coats at either the start or end of the evening. Shift 1 from 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm ;Shift 2 from 9:30 pm to 10:30 pm
  • Usher (3) – responsible for helping guests find their seats and will remain on duty throughout the show. Shift: from 7:45 to 9:30 pm

Training: volunteer orientation will be provided by BCT and AMNA staff. Dress Code: the evening is black tie, so semi-formal attire would be appreciated (i.e. dress shirts, ties, dress pants, cocktail dresses etc.) For more information about the event please visit

Preschool Programs

**Teens 16+ & Adults Volunteers **

Creative Hands and Minds
Designed for children aged 3-5. This program features stories, rhymes and a craft for children and their caregivers to share.
Session 1- Registered
Dates: Tuesdays, from January 16th to February 13th (6 sessions)
Time: from 1:15 pm to 3:00 pm
Duties: Setup, assisting with craft, cleanup of craft
Positions available(ages 16+)
Session 2- Registered
Dates: Tuesdays, from March 6th to April 10th (6 sessions)
Time: from 1:15 pm to 3:00 pm
Duties: Setup, assisting with craft, cleanup of craft

School-Aged Programs

**Just for Teens Volunteers **

Tween Zone
Assist program participants with themed activities, DIY projects, gaming and more!
Dates: Fridays, from January 12 to April 27th
Time: from 2:45 pm to 4:15 pm
Duties: Setup, room control and tear down

Time: from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm

How to apply:

  • Fill out an application form  and bring it to the library or e-mail it to our Volunteer Coordinator Lucia Gomez.
  • The Volunteer Coordinator will contact you within a month of receipt of application to set up an interview.
  • Together you will complete a volunteer agreement and schedule.
