We strive to make volunteering with Airdrie Public Library a rewarding experience and it is through our volunteers that we are able to strengthen and enhance our services.

Mighty Machines Day is a celebration of trucks, vehicles, machines, and all things that go.
The Main Street Square parking lot will showcase machines and trucks while APL hosts story
times and other literacy programming.
 
DateSunday, July 29th
Time: from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm
Duties: assist with prep, activity stations and tear down.
Positions available: 7
 
Take a look of the fun stations planned for that day:
 
Inside the Library
*        Truck Town: Monitor toy cars 
*        Treats station      
*        Colouring Pages & LEGO
*        Mario Kart                                          
*        Construction Paper Vehicles      
*        Robots & LEGO Mindstorms     
Outside the Library
*        Greeting Table: 1-2 Adult volunteers and 1 Teen (one will count attendance)
*        APL Van: 1-2 Adult volunteers to supervise APL Van, show children how books
         are transported
*        Rovers: 2 Adult volunteers to through the parking lot assisting patrons as required
 


Minecraft Summer

Assist program participants (Ages 7+) with Minecraft
Dates: Fridays, July 20th, 27th and August 3rd
Duties: Set up, room control, assisting children with projects and tear down
Session 1: from 12:45 to 1:45 pm
Session 2: from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm
Requirements (Adult volunteers): current criminal record with vulnerable sector checks
Positions available1 per session (preferably with Minecraft experience)

  • The Volunteer Coordinator will contact you within a month of receipt of application to set up an interview.
  • Together you will complete a volunteer agreement and schedule.
