Create a new artwork every third Saturday! Local artists share their work and passion to inspire, teaching techniques and allowing students of all artistic abilities to explore and create.  

Teens Welcome! $4 non-refundable materials fee; APL membership required. Register in advance at the library. Limited to 17 participants.

Free-form Sculpting with Deb Lawton

Join Airdrie artist and educator Deb Lawton in creating a sculpture from materials that can be found in most homes. Students will express their creativity using wire and plaster bandages to create form, then paint their creations to bring their work to life.

Intuitive Abstraction using Pouring Medium with Jay Benoit

Jaye Benoit demonstrates how to manipulate materials to create your own intuitive abstract art. Using pouring medium and acrylics, students will experiment with colour and composition while having fun pouring and mixing to create their own masterpieces.

Learning to Shade with Jaye Benoit

Learn how to create depth and volume in your pencil drawings through shading. Local artist Jaye Benoit teaches students how to see different shades while exploring various techniques and tools to create a realistically shaded drawing.

Alcohol Inks with Kristen Powell

Explore this new and vibrant medium with Calgary-based artist and educator Kristen Powell of Resonance Art Studio. Kristen will demonstrate how to work with resist and build layers of ink to create bold colour and pattern in an abstract piece.
